Jon Tappenden has a great deal of experience in translating texts covering a wide range of legal areas, such as banking, mergers and acquisitions, tax, securities, copyright, labour law, telecommunications law, pharmaceutical and EU law, and major real estate projects.

Jon graduated with a degree in modern languages from the University of Leicester and completed a course in applied English linguistics in 1995. He has taught English in Poland in cooperation with two language schools and completed a course in advanced Polish language at the Polish language school Academia Polonica.

From 2000 - 2001 he worked as a translator in the English language section of the Polish Press Agency [PAP]

From 2001 - 2008 he worked for international law firm Baker & McKenzie

From 2006 - 2007 he conducted translation workshops at the Institute of Applied Linguistics at Warsaw University.

In 2008 he joined international law firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey as an English language in-house translator and proofreader and legal English trainer.

He works with many translation agencies in the UK and other countries.

He currently provides legal and financial translations.
